The Campaign for Gender Inclusivity is an organization completely made up of middle and high school students. While many of our members are LGBTQ+, many are just simply passionate about making their own schools and communities more kind and inclusive.
Our Purpose
Our motto is Educate, Advocate, Create. To us,
this means we first work to educate students,
teachers, parents, anyone who wants to learn. We provide them
with the skills they need to advocate for transgender and non-binary students.
From there, our hope is that they will then go on to create
safe spaces and repeat the process, educating new individuals
to advocate and create a more accepting environment in their schools.
Our History
The Campaign for Gender Inclusivity started with middle school GSA
leaders wanting to make their teachers more aware about
respecting pronouns.
Since then, we have expanded and recruited
members from 11 different public
and private schools in New Jersey, started a thriving chapter in India,
and we are always growing. Since our first meeting on February 28, 2021,
we have fundraised at 8 different fairs and pride events,
curated a multitude of resources for students to help
educate their teachers on gender and pronouns,
held an online workshop where we demonstrated how to start conversations with administrators,
and held countless LGBTQ+ teen support groups, among other things.
